Rett Symposium MU NJRSA Patricia A. Remshifski, PhD, CCC-SLP

Patricia A. Remshifski, PhD, CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor at Monmouth University. She is Chair of the Department of Speech- Language Pathology and Director of the Program for Research and Support for Rett Syndrome at Monmouth University. Dr. Remshifski has conducted and published research in the area of Rett Syndrome and has presented on the topic both nationally and internationally.

Steven Kaminsky, PhD is Chief Science Officer of the International Rett Syndrome Foundation (rettsyndrome.org). He came to the Foundation after serving 11 years as the Vice President of Research for the Uniformed Services of the Health Sciences. As CSO, Dr. Kaminsky oversees rettsyndrome.org’s research portfolio, which integrates elements of basic, translational and clinical research.

Theresa Bartolotta, PhD, CCC-SLP is a professor of Speech - Language Pathology at Monmouth University. She has more than 30 years of clinical experience as a speech-language pathologist specializing in individuals with significant communication challenges, including autism and Rett syndrome. Her research and publications concern communication skills and training in Rett syndrome. She is part of an international group working to develop guidelines for communication assessment and intervention for individuals with Rett.

Theresa Bartolotta, PhD, CCC-SLP is a professor of Speech - Language Pathology at Monmouth University. She has more than 30 years of clinical experience as a speech-language pathologist specializing in individuals with significant communication challenges, including autism and Rett syndrome. Her research and publications concern communication skills and training in Rett syndrome. She is part of an international group working to develop guidelines for communication assessment and intervention for individuals with Rett.

Dave Bertone, PT, DPT, OCS has been a licensed physical therapist since 1988 after graduating from New York University’s renowned Physical Therapy program. He became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2005 by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. In 2010 he obtained his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the Evidence in Motion Institute of Health Professions with a specialty in Private Practice Management. He is the principal owner of db Orthopedic Physical Therapy with locations in Lincroft and Manalapan, NJ. In addition, Dr. Bertone is a sitting member of the New Jersey Board of Physical Therapy Examiners having been appointed by Governor Christie in 2012. He is also an adjunct professor in the Doctoral Physical Therapy program at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
